Jacob Behney is an American martial arts coach and Jiu-Jitsu instructor who is best known for his close relationship with UFC veteran King Green, formerly known as Bobby Green. Green has publicly described Behney as both a coach and a father figure, which is the main reason Behney became known to a wider audience outside the martial arts community.
This Jacob Behney biography looks at his coaching career, his connection with King Green, his legal history, and what is publicly known about his life in 2026. Where reliable information is limited or unclear, that is stated directly instead of presenting uncertain details as facts.

Who Is Jacob Behney?
Jacob Behney is mainly known for his work as a martial arts coach rather than for having a high-profile professional fighting career of his own. His name became more familiar to MMA fans because of his long relationship with King Green, who has openly spoken about Behney’s importance in his personal and professional life.
Current fight databases list Behney as a coach connected with Pinnacle MMA, while the UFC continues to list Green as training at Pinnacle MMA in 2026. This makes Behney’s role as a coach and mentor better supported than some of the other personal details that appear on biography websites.
There is no widely documented professional MMA record for Behney, so it is more accurate to describe him as an MMA coach and Jiu-Jitsu instructor rather than as a former UFC or professional MMA fighter.
Jacob Behney’s Early Life
Jacob Behney has kept much of his early life away from public attention. His exact date of birth has not been reliably confirmed, and strong public sources do not provide a complete record of his parents, childhood, education, or family background.
Several biography websites report that Behney spent part of his younger years in Ohio, attended community college to study engineering, played baseball, and later became more interested in martial arts. Some of these profiles also say that he faced substance-abuse problems during his early adult life.
However, these details are mostly repeated across secondary biography websites rather than being supported by a direct interview, school record, or another strong primary source. For that reason, they are better described as reported background instead of fully confirmed facts.
Jacob Behney’s MMA and Jiu-Jitsu Career
Behney’s career is most closely connected with Pinnacle MMA. Current fight databases identify him as one of the coaches associated with the gym, while the UFC’s official profile for King Green continues to list Pinnacle MMA as Green’s training base.
This connection provides stronger support for Behney’s coaching career than many general biography pages, which often repeat career information without explaining where it came from.
Several secondary sources also say Behney helped build or operate Pinnacle Mixed Martial Arts in Redlands, California. Those reports connect him with fighters such as King Green, Willie Gates, and Darrion Caldwell. However, the exact nature and length of every coaching relationship are not equally well documented, so it would be inaccurate to describe all of these fighters as long-term students without stronger evidence.

How Did Jacob Behney Meet King Green?
One of the most important parts of Jacob Behney’s public story is his relationship with King Green.
Green has spoken publicly about meeting Behney through martial arts training. According to accounts connected with Green’s appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, the two met while Green was taking Jiu-Jitsu classes. Green noticed that Behney showed unusual interest in his health, training, and development, including helping him better understand supplements and physical recovery.
Over time, the relationship became much deeper than a normal coach-and-athlete partnership.
After Green defeated Clay Guida in June 2020, he publicly introduced Behney as his father and explained that he had grown up without a stable mother or father in his life. Green described Behney as someone who had supported him from the beginning and had treated him in a way that made their relationship feel like family.
Behney is not Green’s biological father. There is also no reliable public evidence showing that Behney legally adopted him. Some websites describe Behney as Green’s adoptive father or foster father, but those terms may give the wrong impression.
Based on the available public information, it is more accurate to describe Jacob Behney as King Green’s coach, mentor, father figure, or the man Green personally refers to as his dad.
Jacob Behney’s Role in King Green’s Fighting Career
King Green became a professional MMA fighter in 2008 and later developed into a long-time UFC competitor. Throughout much of that journey, Pinnacle MMA remained an important connection between Green and Behney.
As of September 2026, the UFC still lists Green as an active lightweight who trains at Pinnacle MMA. Current gym databases also continue to list Behney among the coaches connected with Pinnacle.
Green has remained active in the UFC during 2026. UFC records show victories over Daniel Zellhuber in February, Jeremy Stephens in May, and Terrance McKinney in July. He was also scheduled to fight Esteban Ribovics on October 3.
Those fight results belong to Green, not Behney, but they help show that Pinnacle MMA remains part of Green’s current professional career.
The available records support a continuing gym connection between Green and Behney, although they do not clearly document Behney’s role in every individual fight camp during 2026.
Why Did Jacob Behney Go to Prison?
Jacob Behney’s legal history is one of the most widely discussed parts of his biography, but it is also an area where online sources often give incomplete or conflicting information.
Several secondary publications report that Behney was arrested in November 2016 after a sexual-assault allegation. According to those reports, Behney denied the accusation and maintained that the encounter had been consensual.
The same sources report that he was convicted in 2018 and received a 10-year prison sentence.
Some websites go further and claim that the case later weakened because of evidence problems or inconsistent statements, eventually leading to Behney’s release. However, accessible primary court records clearly explaining the full legal process were not found during the research for this article.
In particular, the available sources do not clearly establish whether the conviction was overturned, vacated, dismissed, changed through an appeal, or whether Behney was released through another legal process.
Because that part of the record remains unclear, it would be misleading to say with certainty that Behney was “cleared” or that his conviction was definitely overturned.
What can be confirmed through public media records is that Behney later appeared alongside King Green on JRE MMA Show #121 in April 2022. Podcast listings confirm the episode, and related archive listings identify a section in which Behney discussed surviving prison as a first-time offender. During the conversation, he spoke about dangerous situations he said he experienced while incarcerated.
Jacob Behney’s Personal Life, Age, and Net Worth
Behney keeps most of his personal life private, and this is one area where many online biography websites provide information that is difficult to verify.
Different websites give different answers about his age, relationships, family life, and financial position. Some sources also contradict each other about his private relationships and social media presence.
There is no dependable public financial disclosure confirming Jacob Behney’s net worth. Figures such as $500,000 or $1 million appear on some biography websites, but those numbers are not supported by verified financial records.
For that reason, there is no reliable Jacob Behney net worth figure that can be treated as confirmed as of 2026.
The same caution applies to his age. Because no reliably sourced public birth date has been established, giving Behney an exact age would make the available information appear more certain than it really is.
Where Is Jacob Behney in 2026?
No major verified 2026 news story focused specifically on Jacob Behney was found during this research.
His name continues to appear mainly in connection with King Green, Pinnacle MMA, his background as a martial arts coach, and online interest in his prison experience.
The clearest current information is that King Green remains active in the UFC and continues to list Pinnacle MMA as his training base. Current fight-database information also continues to identify Behney as a Pinnacle MMA coach.
This suggests that Behney remains connected with the martial arts world, although there has not been a major public announcement about his personal life or career in 2026.
Why People Are Interested in Jacob Behney
Jacob Behney’s story continues to attract attention because it brings together several different parts of his life: martial arts coaching, mentorship, chosen family, professional fighting, and a complicated legal history.
Behney is not a mainstream celebrity and has not built a major public brand around himself. Most people know his name because one of the UFC’s most experienced fighters has repeatedly described him as an important father figure.
That relationship is also the most clearly documented part of Behney’s public life.
Rather than focusing on uncertain net-worth estimates, guessed ages, or unsupported personal details, the clearest way to understand Jacob Behney is through the role King Green has publicly emphasized: coach, mentor, and family figure.
How This Was Researched
I researched this biography by reviewing leading Jacob Behney profiles from Tuko, Briefly, Pix Magazine, Foxx Magazine, Wigo Magazine, MySportDab, TheCityCeleb, and Business Daily Ideas. I then compared their claims with current UFC information, fight-gym databases, and the public listing for JRE MMA Show #121. One major gap in existing coverage is that many websites repeat uncertain details about Behney’s age, net worth, early life, and legal outcome as though they are fully confirmed. Where strong primary support was not available, I have made that uncertainty clear instead of filling the gaps with guesses.
